All Postgraduate courses at Newcastle University have their Entry Requirements for Pre-Sessional listed on the individual course page. https://www.ncl.ac.uk/postgraduate/degrees/?courses=postgraduate&q= In addition, your offer letter from Newcastle University will state the English language band for your degree.
Postgraduate taught (PGT) course band requirements are:
For Bands 1-4:
Pre-Sessional 10 week (Campus) & 12 week (Online)
Requires: IELTS 5.5 (with 5.5 in all sub-skills)
Pre-Sessional 6 week (Campus) & 8 week (Online)
Requires: IELTS 6.0 (with 5.5 in all sub-skills)
PGT degrees courses in Bands 5, 7 and 11 have higher Pre-Sessional English requirements. PGT degree courses in Bands 6 and 12-18 do not accept Pre-Sessional English.

Only an official IELTS result or equivalent recognised English language test will be accepted as proof of English language proficiency. Other English language tests are accepted by the University for entry, including Pearson PTE and Duolingo.
